As of version 5.6.0 of the application has built in support for Pedometers.
This can either be manual entry of steps, attach to Google Fit and retrieve steps or sync with your Fitbit.
This is located in the More tab and you will see the Pedometer option.
Please note : Pedometer is an additional subscription purchase within the app
